The Centre for Nanomaterials Applications in Construction (NANOC)

is a recently created unit with in LABEIN and a platform aimed at developing key technological capacities that will enable the Construction Industry to use Nanotechnology as a competitive tool.

LABEIN´s expertise in construction materials is long-standing since its creation in 1955.

In recent years, the NANOC team has been pursuing the development of novel knowledge-based high performance materials using Nanotechnology as an enabling tool.

NANOC´s main research objectives are:

Development of ultra high performance materials for the Construction Sector
Understanding of materials nano/microstructure. Nano-macro connection
Multi-scale modelling of materials

Research staff in this team hold PhDs in a range of different disciplines.
